Backslash is a Series A startup on a mission to make AI-assisted development safe by default. As AI coding agents and modern dev environments like Cursor and Claude Code reshape how software is written, we are building the security layer that understands where AI introduces new, hidden risk and protects against it. We are a focused team with a simple goal: let engineering teams adopt AI at full speed with maximum visibility and safety.

The role

You'll own the product - roadmap, design, prioritization, and shipping alongside engineering and GTM. We move fast, talk to customers constantly, and expect product to drive what we build. If you want full ownership in a space that's evolving weekly, this is it.

What you will do

• Own the product roadmap - prioritize ruthlessly based on customer problems, market shifts, and company goals
• Turn customer and competitive insight into clear specs and product bets
• Track the landscape - AI coding tools, security vendors, emerging capabilities - and translate what matters into what we build
• Hire and grow a team of PMs and designers as we scale
• Drive product design and UX - ensure workflows are simple and intuitive for technical users
• Spend time with customers and prospects weekly to validate problems and sharpen solutions
• Partner with engineering to ship fast and iterate based on real usage
• Establish lean product rituals - discovery, planning, launch, metrics - without process bloat

What you bring

• 8+ years in B2B product management, including 3+ years leading product teams
• Experience building for technical users (developers, DevOps, security)
• Track record shipping and iterating quickly in early-stage environments
• Strong product execution skills from discovery through launch and iteration
• Data driven mindset and strong written and verbal communication
• Hands on, pragmatic and biased to action

Strong Plus

• Experience with developer tools or AI products
• Experience working on enterprise security products
